Linphone — Configuration for AJTEL

Important: Your username and password are NOT your web portal credentials. Use those from the VoIP Accounts section of your AJTEL portal.
SIP Server: Throughout this guide the server is shown as [SIP_SERVER] . Replace it with the server provided by AJTEL (e.g. sbc.ajtel.net).
01 Download & Install
Download Linphone for your operating system. Always use the latest version from the official page:

02 Do You Have a Provisioning URL?
✓ YES, I have a URL
When Linphone opens, click FETCH REMOTE CONFIGURATION, paste the URL sent to you and you are done. Skip steps 3–8.
✗ NO, I don't have one
Continue to Step 3 for manual configuration.
03 Open Preferences / Settings
Click the hamburger menu ≡ (three lines) in the top-right corner of the window and select Preferences or Settings.

04 Add SIP Account
Inside Preferences, click:
+ ADD AN ACCOUNT
A configuration wizard will appear. Fill in the fields in the next step.
05 Configure Account Fields Critical
The wizard shows default values. Replace them exactly as follows:
Field: SIP Account
sip:?@sip.linphone.org
sip:your_user@[SIP_SERVER]
Use the username from your VoIP Accounts section
Field: SIP Server Address
sip:sip.linphone.org;transport=tls
sip:[SIP_SERVER];transport=tls

06 Confirm and Enter Password
  1. Click CONFIRM to save the settings.
  2. A window will ask for your SIP password — enter it.
  3. The account will be registered automatically. ✓
The account icon will turn green when registration is successful.
07 Configure Audio Codecs
Go back to Preferences → Audio (via ≡ side menu). Enable only the following codecs:
Enabled Codecs:
OPUS G722 G729 GSM
☑ Enable only these four. Disable all others.
08 Test Your Account Verification
Make a test call by dialing:
*711
If configured correctly, you will hear a recording that reads back your assigned phone number. ✓
